If you come on one of my photography courses, whether the Smartphone, Discover Photography or DSLR/Mirrorless Photography for Beginners courses or one of the more advanced photography courses like Drone or Landscape photography, we’ll cover many of the rules of composition and discuss how they can make all the difference between a good photo and a great one.

Most of us have our own default “go to” rules, like the “Rule of Thirds” and “Leading Lines” that we always consider on every photograph we shoot but it’s also really important to have others up your sleeve to choose from, whether it’s “Space”, “Odds and Evens”, “Symmetry”, “Point of Interest” or any of the others available to you.

You’ll learn more about using Rules of Composition on my photography courses and will have loads of time to practice them either at my home in the garden with its landscape views and the macro opportunities with the wildflowers or on location locally in Highland Perthshire…what Rule of Composition do YOU use most often?
