Aberfeldy

The braes ascend like lofty wa's,

The foaming stream deep-roaring fa's,

O'erhung wi' fragrant spreading shaws-

The birks of Aberfeldy

Robert Burns

Made famous by Scotland’s National Bard, Robert Burns, a visit to The Birks (Silver Birch trees) is a must for all photographers coming to Aberfeldy.  Walking up the Moness Gorge to the Falls of Moness, much of the gorge is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is believed to have had continuous woodland cover for up to 8,000 years.  Best to visit in the late Autumn as the trees change colour, but there is always something to photograph, whatever the time of the year. Elsewhere in the Aberfeldy area, you will find other treasures just waiting to become the next part of your portfolio.
